An attendance program will begin in Quarter 3. Students are selected for this program by the Attendance Committee and are based on total absences and/or tardies. Small groups topics for Quarter 3 will be determined based on school data and teacher recommendations. Please check back soon for Quarter 3 topics for Second Grade.

During Quarter 2, our classroom lessons will focus on the following:
Two small groups will be offered during Quarter 2, Boy Code and Book Club. The purpose of Boy Code is to explore the common thread in all of us – our feelings and how to deal with them, that we learn and grow at different rates, and how each of us is unique with different strengths and abilities. The group will focus on the school skills needed to feel happy and successful so learning can take place. Topics will include: It’s Hard to Be a Verb I Just Want to Do It My Way But It’s Not My Fault Well, I Can Top That Teamwork Isn’t My Thing, and I Don’t Like to Share The Worst Day of My Life (listening and following directions) Baditude The purpose of Book Club is to explore the common themes of perseverance and growth mindset in a book, Here’s Hank: Bookmarks are People Too. We will work on building reading confidence, as well as, support literacy elements students are learning in the classroom. Both Boy Code and Book Club are currently full. If you would like your child to participate in a small group in the future, please contact your child's teacher. Students will meet and understand the role of the school counselor:
