Pleasant Grove Elementary School
Parent Resource Library
We invite all parents to explore the Pleasant Grove Elementary School Parent Resource Library. There are currently 22 books in the library addressing a range of topics that provide tips and techniques relevant to common childhood concerns. The Parent Resource Library is located in the School Counseling office at PGES. We ask that all books be returned within three weeks. If you have any questions, contact Mallorie Curley ([email protected]). A link to the complete list of books and descriptions organized by topic is below.

Anxiety
Anxiety affects everyone to some degree, but when it becomes so severe that it interferes with a student's ability to carry out his or her daily routine or negatively impacts educational performance, additional intervention may be warranted. Anxiety can affect a student's ability to take tests, to interact with peers and adults, to complete assignments, to participate in class, or even to attend school.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
If parents are concerned with their child's attention level and ability to focus, the school may work with them to gather data from the classroom, as well as to collect parent and teacher ratings. Parents can choose to share this information with their child's medical provider. If a child is found to have ADHD, the school will work with the student to provide the accommodations necessary for academic success. More information regarding ADHD can be found here.
