During Quarter 3, our classroom lessons will focus on the following:
An attendance program will begin in Quarter 3. Students are selected for this program by the Attendance Committee and are based on total absences and/or tardies. A Family Changes group will begin in Quarter 3 based on student need. Parents may request their student's participate in this group by contacting Mrs. Curley or the student's classroom teacher. The Bowtie Brotherhood will also begin in Quarter 3 and continue through the remainder of the school year. This program is for male students in the 4th and 5th grade. During Quarter 2, our classroom lessons will focus on the following:
One small group, titled Building Champions, will be offered during Quarter 2. The purpose of this small group is to build trust, respect, and peer connections, Building Champions covers the topics boys most want and need to become better friends, classmates, and citizens. Topics will include: Breaking a Sweat (goal setting) In The Huddle (respect and integrity) Hands In (relationships) Game Time (leadership and teamwork) Sitting on the Bench (self-control) The Last Play (confidence) Shake Hands, Game Over (good sport) Building Champions is currently full. If you would like your child to participate in a small group in the future, please notify your child's teacher. Students will meet and understand the role of the school counselor:

In addition, your child will bring home simple, fun activities called Home Links that will help you understand what your child is learning about bullying at school. They also give your child another chance to practice skills for handling bullying. |
